Frank Roble’s Contest Prep Journey

 

How’s it going ladies and gents! Today we are excited to share our client and friend, Frank Roble’s 24 week Men’s Physique Journey.  This was Frank’s very first competition that he was seeking and it definitely was a memorable one to say the least!

A first time journey to the stage can be very overwhelming as there is so much trial and error along the way. With some structure, education, guidance, science, and accountability we knew Frank would thrive! So we set him up using flexible dieting for her daily nutrition, programmed her a properly periodized strength training protocol, strategically implemented cardio throughout his 24 week dieting phase, and he ended up doing very well while placing 1st overall in his class and became nationally qualified.

 

Week 1-

135 lbs.

1,900 calories

Waist circumference 31 inches

123 lbs.

1,605 calories

We like to show these stats because too often we see misleading information about weight loss or contest prep success stories. The moral of Frank’s story is he lost a significant amount of body fat, maintained lean body mass, and never had to deprive himself from foods he enjoyed during his prep. Ideally we would have wanted her to start his prep with a higher calorie intake so we wouldn’t have to go so low but we managed very well and so did Frank! He took 1st place overall in his class, then competed in another show a few weeks after with some very good competition and placed 4th overall. So needless to say, Frank had one hell of a season and will do even better next time!

We’re extremely proud of Frank and it’s been an honor coaching him and being a part of his journey.

 I’ve been working out for about 5 years and started to take it serious a year ago and started with Team DDT coach Chris and Eric for a 24 week nutrition and contest prep. The thing is I didn’t know what show I was going to do. But Coach Chris helped me along the way with my first show. Now before all this I was skeptical, because I was with another coach in the past that gave me a workout plan, meal plan, and let me go. He didn’t help me out with any questions about workouts or anything. Enter Team DDT, Coach Chris and Eric individualized a macro meal plan to my specific needs, workout plan to my body, and I had constant contact with them!  Not only did they help me out throughout the prep, they also helped me deal with what life throws out at you during the whole prep, all the way to the show! At some point I got shocked because my body started to change! I thought to myself these guys know magic! They knew more about my body than I knew myself; I ended up being in the best shape of my life! Needless to say I won 1st place in my class and am nationally qualified. I owe a lot to my team. These guys are my coaches as well as my friends! I will continue to work with them in my journey to become pro! Thanks again!
