Yoga Instructor and Mother of 5 Hits the NPC Bikini Stage for the First Time

 

How’s it going ladies and gents! Today I am thrilled to share my client and friend, Dez Murray’s 13 weeks Bikini Prep Journey.  Dez first reached out to me wanting to do her first bikini show and normally I do not take on prep clients with only 13 weeks out but I knew Dez was in a good place calorie wise and could come in and do well for her first show, so I happily helped her reach her goals. I told Dez that prep is like a great big roller coaster and you will have some highs and lows along the way and I would be by her side every step of the way and not let her fall off that roller coaster. I am so proud of her hard work and what she accomplished; it was an awesome journey and watching Dez grow all around. She learned a lot from this show and next time when shes ready to hit the stage she will take a longer prep and have a new and improved package.

We like to show these stats because too often we see misleading information about weight loss or contest prep success stories. The moral of Dez’s story is she lost a significant amount of body fat, maintained lean body mass, and never had to deprive herself from foods she enjoyed during her prep. Dez accomplished her goals without making her life miserable and was very content with her overall prep experience and first show. Not to mention, Dez is a mother of 5 and a wife…thats pretty damn impressive 😉

After having my 5th baby I had really become inspired by the women I saw competing in bodybuilding competitions.  I had committed to this as a goal/dream of mine and began trying for it myself.  I was putting in tons of effort but not gaining the results I wanted or needed to compete.  I began searching for a coach right around 14 weeks out from the show I had hoped to compete in.  After I contacted Dynamic Duo Training via email coach Eric contacted me via telephone and we talked about my goals and his approach to training.  He was a little apprehensive about taking me on with the goal of 14 weeks but was willing to work with what I had in mind and asked that I send him my pictures to see where I was at.  He decided that he was willing to take me on and I couldn’t be happier that he did, from my starting point to show day I lost body fat and 4.5 inches from my waist and 5 inches from my hips!  He guided me from workouts, nutrition to everything in between.  I always felt listened to, cared about and my program was MY program.  No cookie cutter food plans or workout plans.

I am 32 and work full time.  Coach Eric was able to help me reach my goal and along the way I learned so much about lifting and nutrition that I know will stay with me for the rest of my life.  Eric taught me how to eat and train using scientifically backed practices to prepare my body for show day without any “bro” tricks or any health threatening practices.  We utilized macro tracking with the flexible dieting approach and this really worked for me.  I had moments where I doubted if I would be stage ready but Coach Eric was always there for me with support and encouragement.  I feel very blessed that I found Dynamic Duo training and my prep was enjoyable from day one through my reverse diet.
