How’s it going ladies and gents! Today we are excited to share our client and friend, Kim Rubenstein’s 36 week Dieting Success and Journey. Kim first came to us with the goals of wanting to lose body fat, build muscle, increase strength, and most importantly feel comfortable in her own skin. Kim needed guidance and direction within her fitness journey and she was never afraid to ask for help.
We knew with some structure, guidance, science, building a solid relationship, and accountability Kim would do awesome! So we set her up using flexible dieting for her daily nutrition, programmed her a properly periodized strength training protocol that emphasized heavy lifting based around Squats, Deadlifts, and Bench Press, along with a decent amount of cardio and Kim really improved her overall body composition while dropping a total of 30 plus pounds and feeling better about her overall image!

We like to show these stats because too often we see misleading information about weight loss or weight gains. The moral of Kim’s story is she lost a significant amount of body fat, increased lean body mass, strength, and is now in a healthy recovery diet increasing her calories and building more muscle. Kim worked her ass of each and every day while being a mom of 2, a wife, and working full-time. Nothing is impossible ladies and gentleman!

I struggled with my weight and body image for most of my life. Although I was a Division 1 college basketball player and a personal trainer later on, I still struggled. I would do hours of cardio and restrict food and calories. It was hard, I was unhappy and I was exhausted all of the time. I eventually went the super low carb route….and it worked. I lost weight and got relatively “skinny”, but I was not a very nice person!!
In 2014, I became pregnant (with twins) and quickly ditched the low carb routine and ate everything I could get my hands on. While I enjoyed the foods I ate, I knew that I was not going to be happy with myself after I gave birth….and I was right!. I gave birth to the twins in January 2015 at the age of 42. I knew that I owed it to myself and my family to get healthy in a smart and safe way. I knew that I would not be able to achieve my goals without some sort of guidance along the way.
I had the good fortune of stumbling upon DDT shortly before becoming pregnant and followed them closely throughout. After following them for close to a year and reading every article they wrote and watching every video they made, I knew they were my answer. In fact, I paid for 3 months of nutrition and training coaching without even a phone consultation. Eric has been amazing since day one. To start, we spent about 10 weeks building my metabolism by slowly adding calories, before eventually reverse dieting. I’ve done minimal cardio and lifted lots of heavy weights and enjoyed every minute of it. And most importantly, with flexible dieting, I’ve eaten everything I’ve wanted. I’ve lost 35+ pounds and many inches since I started with them in April 2015. Working out is no longer a chore but something I really look forward to and love.
I can’t say enough good things about Eric. He is always there for me for anything/everything I need. He is quick to respond and truly cares about my journey. Checking in with him weekly ensures that he and I are always on the same page.
I feel so lucky to have found DDT. Without them, I would not have the health and confidence that I have today. I love this fitness journey I am on and owe everything to Eric. I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
