How’s it going ladies and gents!
Today I’m pumped up to share my longtime client and friend, Rebecca Valencia’s fitness journey, specifically her 28 week contest prep.
I’ve been working with Rebecca for close to 3 years now and I always had a hunch that she had an itch to step on stage and compete.
If it were 3 years ago, she wouldn’t have been both mentally and physically ready for this journey.
Over the past years she has been building great habits, creating systems that work for her day to day life, training hard, learning flexible nutrition, and most importantly transitioning it all into a lifestyle.
Quick note: As a society we tend to look at just the end product, but don’t really take the time to realize what the process was like, which in turn is where all the hard work comes in (more on this in a bit).
Despite her body image changes, during the process of all this, Rebecca gained:
- Knowledge in nutrition through flexible dieting
- Increased strength and muscle mass through progressive resistance training
- Increased relationships with foods
- How to balance her fitness journey along with being a wife, mother of 2, and working as a registered nurse
- How to incorporate her favorite foods and treats, hence the daily treat she would allow herself every night
Starting weight (28 weeks ago)-
Despite the before and after pics and starting/ending weights, these past 3 years she has been doing the following:
- Reverse dieting
- Lean gaining phases
- Mini cut phases
- Block dieting phases
- Contest prep diet
She is currently 8 weeks post show and doing great with her reverse diet phase 🙂
It has been a true pleasure and honor being Rebecca’s coach and being a part of her fitness journey.
