Professional Fashion Model Overcomes Eating Disorder

How’s it going ladies and gents! Today I am excited to share my client and friend, Veronica’s 20-week dieting journey. Veronica came to me in need of structure, guidance, and wanting to find a balanced approach to fitness.

I knew that Veronica wanted this change so bad from the minute I spoke with her on an initial phone consultation before she started. Veronica was so focused throughout her 20 weeks of dieting and never took her eye off the prize.

What impressed me the most was her curiosity in the science behind flexible dieting and resistance training.

Veronica was an awesome student that wanted to learn constantly. We worked as a team and that is why she reached her goals. I am extremely proud of her and know this is just the beginning of her journey.

The moral of  Veronica’s story is she lost body fat, gained some lean body mass, and never had to deprive herself of foods she enjoyed.  She accomplished her goals without making her life miserable and enjoyed the ups and downs of her journey. Veronica also gained a ton of knowledge within training and nutrition that she can use going forward. 🙂

She is currently in a calorie building phase and will diet down again early next year. Veronica is feeling stronger, more energetic, eating more, and having better relationships with food, building muscle mass, enjoying life, and doing things the right way.

I am extremely proud of Veronica and it’s been an honor coaching her and being a part of her fitness journey.

I reached out to DDT with every intention to get healthy and reverse some damage I may have caused by under-eating for many years. As a professional fashion model, I had been consuming not enough of the right macros (i.e. protein); my training consisted of only Pilates and long walks all while living a very high pace active lifestyle. Over years of not fueling myself properly, I developed amenorrhea, osteoporosis, and loss a great deal of muscle mass. I reached out to Eric after being in an eating disorder recovery program because I felt lost in my journey and was holding onto a lot of guilt and fear. I was uncomfortable with the 40-pound weight gain the program put on me and at the same time I didn’t trust myself with finding a balanced approach to fitness and nutrition.

Eric and I first approached a fat loss phase to see how my body would respond. I slowly and progressively lost some of the excess weight my body had gained. At the same time, Eric understood the importance of my health and we held back from running a long dieting phase. Today, Eric and I are focusing on getting me healthy, building my metabolism through a calorie building phase, and implementing a weight training program that will enable me to focus on strength versus the ladder. In addition, Eric has supported me with balancing out my weight training with endurance and Pilates that are movements I find passion in. I have been progressing each week in strength and I’ve built a strong foundation. I believe working with Eric has enabled me to trust the process once again and believe I can still reach my goals. Having a coach with the right information, consistent daily support, and flexibility in nutrition has given me the ability to persist with my fitness and health goals today.

DDT Training is not just for people interested in fat loss or aesthetic goals. Eric has taught me the importance of staying healthy, being consistent, and doing an activity that I love for years ahead. I’ve learned the importance of protein, the importance of the right stress, and the importance of rest and recovery. I no longer fear the journey and I’ve slowly embraced my recovery. It’s a hard road, but I encourage all males and females that struggle with an eating disorder to fuel yourself properly take care of your body, and the results you seek WILL happen within time.
