How’s it going ladies and gents! Today we are excited to share our client and friend, Magen Mintchev’s 20 week Dieting Phase. Magen recently had come off doing a bikini show back in 2014 and rebounded pretty hard post show and gained a lot of body fat back. Magen wanted to learn the correct way to approach an off-season through reverse dieting but first had to drop some body fat through a dieting phase. Magen went through a common old school prep in her very first show, following methods such as:
- A meal plan with the same foods for 7 days a week
- Training 1 body part per week and no real progressive overload plan
- Excessive amounts of cardio
We knew if Magen had some structure, education, guidance, science, and accountability she would thrive! So we set her up using flexible nutrition for her daily nutrition, programmed her a properly periodized strength training protocol, strategically implemented cardio throughout her 20 week dieting phase, and she ended up doing very well while developing some great overall habits inside and outside of training and nutrition.

We like to show these stats because too often we see misleading information about weight loss success stories. The moral of Magen’s story is she lost a significant amount of body fat, maintained lean body mass, learned great habits and tools, and never had to deprive herself from foods she enjoyed. Magen accomplished her goals without making her life miserable and was very content with her overall experience and new mindset towards training and nutrition.

I started working with Eric in December 2014 and over the course of 8 months, I lost several inches from all over my body and a total of 18 pounds! I learned so much in terms of flexible dieting and reverse dieting and how easy the entire approach is.
