How’s it going ladies and gents! Today I am excited to share my client Mary Robert’s success story. Mary first came to me on a Ketogenic Diet with certain food group restrictions. I am not saying Keto Diets are bad at all but her case was not the way to approach a Keto Diet with such low calories and food restrictions. I have slowly Reverse Dieted Mary through Flexible Dieting while implementing a properly periodized strength training routine along with minimal cardio, as you can see her body has responded very well. Increased Lean Body Mass, Strength, Overall Health, and most importantly she is very happy! Mary is no longer restricting foods, suffering from low calories, and lack of energy. The sky is the limit for her!
I was floundering when I found DDT. I had been working with a doctor who led me down a dangerous path of taking large doses of thyroid medications and following a diet that restricted carbs but allowed fats and proteins in unlimited quantities. During this time I gained 30 pounds of fat after having been pretty much the same weight throughout my adult life. Toward the end of my engagement with him, he was not able to answer my questions: Why had I gained all that weight? Why was I passing out after dinner from exhaustion? Why was I always bloated? Oh, he had answers, but they were, shall we say, entertaining. He tried to convince me that the bloating wasn’t bloating at all – it was just the way my lower abs were genetically positioned. Uh huh. Why had I gained all the weight? He told me men preferred women with meat on their bones. Why was I so tired all the time? He blamed that one on stress and told me to take a class in Tai-Chi. So yeah.
I had been watching Layne Norton’s videos and came across DDT when one of my friends shared a post on Facebook. I approached Eric Martinez through the DDT web site and he understood my situation perfectly. He managed our initial conversation in a friendly, approachable and knowledgeable manner, clearly laid out the program and answered all my questions (and I had many – I am totally skeptical when I need to pay for something) with information supported by peer-reviewed double-blind scientific research.
Since I started working with DDT (12 weeks), my weight has stabilized back at my normal weight, my body has totally transformed from a doughboy (dough woman) with a bloat to a muscular, lean, athletic look, my energy is back, I’m sleeping better and I’m completely confident in my eating – no matter where I am – out with friends, at work, travelling, whatever. I’m a pretty skeptical person since I’m a chemist by education, but I’ve got to say, this approach works if you work it. I’m not going to lie, I’ve never trained harder and there were some hungry days, but you adapt if you keep at it – and once you adapt, you see enough of a change to keep at it. And let me just say that I have never worked with a coach (I’m looking at you, Eric) who is at once professional, knowledgeable, honest, personable, responsive and just overall a person I’d recommend to anyone. This may seem a little gushy, but believe me, I’ve worked with a lot of coaches and they all have blind spots. Eric and Chris are always pursuing more knowledge – in training, in nutrition, in business. Seems to me they are just getting started.
