How many of you are constantly looking or craving a before bed meal or snack? I know we always are and we constantly are trying new recipes to meet these night time urges. So, we came up with a pretty good before bed protein dessert for you guys. This protein dessert is high in lean protein, high in monounsaturated fats, and low in carbohydrates. This is a great meal if you are low carbing or if you are sensitive to carbs. If you choose to use casein protein, this will give you a slow timed release meal throughout the night, along with the good fat sources complementing it. If you choose to use whey protein, that is fine too, it will just digest faster than casein, but you will still get equal benefits. Go ahead and try this out, tweak it up a bit, and fit it into your diets.
Ingredients:
Whey or Casein protein
Raw almonds
Almond butter
Egg whites
Ground cinnamon
How to prepare it:
1. Blend handful of raw almonds in blender 2. Get microwave safe mixing bowl 3. Add in chopped almonds, egg whites, and protein powder 4. Stir with spatula 5. Put in microwave for 1 minute 6. Take out of microwave and add in almond butter and cinnamon 7. Stir with spatula 8. Put in microwave again for 60-90 seconds 9. Cut up into squares 10) ENJOY!
