It’s time to get to know a little bit more about celebrity fitness model Jennifer Nicole Lee.
DDT: Could you give us a little background info on who JNL is?
JNL: WOW, how much time do you have? LM Abs off! I’m a dedicated wifey and mom, and I love life, as it’s the greatest gift we have been given. I love to live a super healthy lifestyle, and want to share this passion with all of my “fitness friends” around the world! I guess that’s a good start!
DDT: What got you started or inspired to get into the (Healthy, Fit, Athletic, Bodybuilding) Lifestyle?
JNL: Funny question, as it was reverse psychology. My mom is great, but she was never really healthy, or had energy to exercise with us. And then I became a mom, and I started to fall into the same unhealthy pattern. So my frustration of being fat and frumpy really motivated me. I wanted to be a mom with a positive outlook, boundless energy, and one who emphasized living a healthy, fun & fit lifestyle. So what motivated me was the pain if knowing what it was like not to be fit, and that’s a great motivator!
DDT: What keeps you motivated through it all? What keeps the “Jolt of JNL” going?
JNL: Hehee! The famous “Jolt of JNL!” I wake up grateful, and my first and last meetings of my day are with God. I start with prayer, and end in prayer, and I also keep myself reminded of my goals. I know that we all have choices, so I choose to design the life that I want to live-and do what makes me happy. My hubby and sons rock, and I got a solid family home life-that I’m so blessed with…Also my amazing fitness friends, VIP clients, and all of my social media contacts FUEL my FITNESS FIRE, and keep me so inspired! All of their emails, FB comments, YouTube comments, and phone calls/texts keep my eyes on the prize!
DDT: How do you balance everything out in your life (marriage, being a mom, work, and being such a global icon)?
JNL: I take it all in waves, like the ocean-And I also don’t allow myself to get overwhelmed, or over-stressed. I focus on what I can control, and leave the rest to God. I also know that if I’m a good person, more blessings will come. When people ask me if I’m busy, I just say no, and say that I’m blessed.
DDT: If you could go back to your starting point, what kind of advice would you give yourself?
JNL: WOW! Love this question! I would have been stronger in my negotiations, and would have had more self-confidence! Many people think that I may be self-absorbed, cocky or over confident, but that’s so far from the truth. It’s just that the fitness industry is a very competitive industry, and you have to be loud and proud to be even heard. I have seen a lot of unfair, cruel, rude things happen in the fitness industry-and still do on a day to day basis-so if I could go back, I think I would of really rang the bell on some wicked people, and created awareness of what really happens in this business. My goal is to create more positive events, projects, activities, wellness products, and experiences to enhance this sometimes brutal and harsh industry. Plus, it’s my love and passion for fitness that keeps me in the game.
DDT: What has been the hardest obstacle to overcome in your life?
JNL: WOW! Many come to mind! A ton actually. I’m a fighter, and a warrior, and have fought for everything that I have earned. The hardest was to deal with the haters. They just make me stronger, and want to win more. Plus many institutions in this field are not fair, and they own the media-so many amazing people are censored and never heard. So I love to create windows of opportunity for many who love fitness to shine and be seen and heard.
DDT: Where do all your slogans come from (Dale Fuerte, Kiss my abs, Glutes that salute, etc.)?
JNL: LOL! In the shower! Just kidding! Many times when I’m writing, they will come to me. When I’m brainstorming, or master minding, I try to create “hypnotic” marketing phrases that you will always remember and never forget. I created “strong is the new skinny”, and then SO many people and even supplement companies took it from me and followed. I also created “kiss my abs” for all the negative people in my life. I say kiss my abs at least 10 times a day! LOL! I created Glutes That Salute, because it’s such a strong visual, to mentally “see” your glutes like standing up at attention! The power of words must never be overlooked! I got tired of hearing and reading “look good” and “feel great” and “lose weight”, that to me is so outdated, so I wanted my slogans to be really colorful and impact people. Some call me the “Nicki Minaj” of fitness for my colorful words and descriptions.
DDT: Being Italian, you must get food cravings from time to time. If you can have any cheat meal, what would that be?
JNL: Of course! Mange mange is a motto in my childhood home! Nothing like a good old fashioned spaghetti and meatballs, or Italian sausage, garlic bread, red wine, and tiramisu for dessert!
DDT: We’ve seen your dance moves live in person. We must say they are quite good. What does JNL do for fun?
JNL: LM ABS OFF! Hey, I can cut a rug! I got a sick jig! LOL! For fun I hit the beach incognito, and people watch-lounge on a rooftop pool, or just chill by the ocean.
DDT: What’s your current training regimen and nutrition intake like?
JNL: I live and die by JNL Fusion. The method rocks and it will keep you cut, and feeling full of stamina, endurance and energy due to the ‘super spiking’ aspect. And I really do eat like a “fun fit foodie”, because I love healthy food, but with exotic flavors, that keep my taste buds happy. Also, I do admire the health benefits of red wine. So I’m a true Mediterranean food lover. Sea food, steamed or roasted veggies, whole grains…a little bit of heart healthy dark chocolate….
DDT: When it’s all said and done, what kind of a “legacy” do you want leave behind?
JNL: Great ending question. It’s my goal to positively impact as many people’s lives as I can while I’m alive. My mission statement says it all” it’s my goal and passion to increase the quality of your lifestyle”.
